Energy Management Practices

Energy management practices are designed to promote a sense of ease within us, increasing our vitality and creating space to engage and embrace an authentic life.
EM also give opportunity to move away from thought patterns that do not serve the sanctuary of our being. They can happen organically through time spent in nature, good companionship, music, laughter, or feeling heard or witnessed.
For the purpose of this website, the function of EM (Energy Management) is intentional and woven into the meditations and practices, and for the most part employing playful or joyful means.
A principle used in EM is that ‘energy follows thought’. It is a simple yet profound law that informs our lives in a pretty continuous manner whether it is conscious or not.
Release from habitual thought patterns that keep us stuck can come in many forms. While meditation is one of the primary practices, there are other skills, sometimes even playful skills that are useful in energy management.
A primary goal is to release stagnant or stuck energy within our system that contributes to dis-ease, distress and disquiet, and to facilitate a return to our true nature that is harmonious, vital, curious, playful and creative.
Something as simple as smiling to ourselves, placing our hand over our heart, focusing on following our breath in and out of the body can lead to a release of our feel good hormones and be an easily employed method of energy management. Try this two minute tune up meditation.
For the purpose of the practices on this website, this renegotiation of energy flow comes through a variety of playful movements, visualization techniques, guided meditation, supportive breath work; or some combination of these. Each practice has a slightly different flavor and can be drawn upon to augment other forms of EM practices.
